7 Restaurants in Virginia Beach, VA You Have to Visit

Jon Fesmire | January 12, 2022 @ 12:00 AM

Virginia Beach is a beautiful city with a surf town feel and one of the longest boardwalks in the world. Along it, you’ll find dozens of restaurants with a variety of delicious cuisine.

We didn’t restrict our list to the boardwalk, however. The point is, there’s a lot of competition in Virginia Beach. We selected eight restaurants you’ll love.

Baladi Mediterranean Café

Look for Baladi Mediterranean Café in the Hilltop West Shopping Center and drop in to enjoy Middle-Eastern and Palestinian cuisine. Come here for your fill of shawarma, falafels, hummus, chicken and potato soup, malfoof, and so much more. There are even vegan and vegetarian options.

Baladi has weekly events, too. These include Happy Hour, happening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays, Vegan Night on Wednesdays, and Date Night on Thursdays.

No Forks Cheesesteaks & More

Get a taste of Philly in Virginia Beach at No Forks Cheesesteaks & More. This restaurant serves chicken Philly and ribeye cheesesteaks, grilled chicken breast sandwiches, fries, and more. Feel like dessert? Then order a walnut brownie or a slice of guava cake. The location has a diner atmosphere where you can feel at home.

Sushi King

All you can eat sushi? Yes please! Sushi King in Virginia Beach serves sushi, hibachi cuisine, ramen, and boba tea. We encourage you to check their extensive menu on the website before you go. Sushi includes salmon, tuna, yellowtail, white tuna, shrimp, and mackerel. You’ll find dozens of rolls, including app, volcano, dragon, queen, and the entertainingly named Rock N Roll. We’re getting hungry just looking at pictures of their dishes.

When you order all-you-can-eat, the server brings whatever you want to your table until you can’t eat another bite.

Hair Of The Dog

In Loehmann’s Plaza, you’ll find Hair Of The Dog Eatery, serving delicious American comfort food and drinks for breakfast and brunch. They serve benedicts, omelets, avocado toast, a buffalo chicken quesadilla, salads, waffles, grits, burgers and other sandwiches, and a lot more. Alcoholic drinks include a huge choice of beers, mimosas, and bloodies, all with a welcoming atmosphere.

Waterman’s Surfside Grille

On the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, we get to Waterman's Surfside Grille, where surf and turf is on the menu. They have a variety of cuisine inspired by the Middle East and America. These include a Mediterranean Hummus Platter, Greek Salmon Salad, a Vegetarian Hummus Wrap, a Guinness Burger, crab cakes, a seafood platter, pasta dishes, and a lot more. Head to their website and check out the different menus, which include drinks, specials, lunch, dinner, kids, and Sunday brunch. This is a lovely place to watch the beach and boardwalk while enjoying a tasty meal.

Repeal Bourbons and Burgers

We all missed the 20s. That is, the 1920s. However, Repeal Bourbon and Burgers is billed as a speakeasy that offers, in their own words, “the ultimate bourbon and burger experience.”

Ingredients are mostly local: farmed mushrooms, free-range eggs, fresh herbs, and local vegetables. The seafood comes from Virginia Beach and the Mid-Atlantic region. You’ll find salads, 13 different burgers, fries, fried mushrooms, poutine, nachos, and more. Alcoholic drinks include an enormous variety of whiskeys, including straight bourbon, Scotch, Japanese, Irish, Canadian, and other whiskeys.

Tupelo Honey

Are you craving a Southern meal made from scratch? Then visit Tupelo Honey Cafe for lunch or dinner any day, or for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

The menu changes by the season, so check for what’s available on the website. Look for biscuits, spicy cauliflower bites, sweet potato bisque, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, creole shrimp linguine, fried chicken, buttermilk waffles, and so much more.

If you’re looking for places to eat because you’re moving to the area, we hope that you think of us for your self storage needs. We’re sure to make your move here a whole lot easier.

If you already live here, and need a place to keep your off-season sports equipment, wardrobe, business items, collectibles, or anything else that’s important to you but that you don’t need at home all the time, we have you covered.

We feature heightened security, a free truck rental on move-in, climate-controlled units, indoor vehicle storage, and a lot more.
