Moving To Virginia Beach

The Jack Rabbit Team | April 22, 2020 @ 12:00 AM

If you’re looking to move to a beautiful city with plenty to do and great weather, it’s hard to beat Virginia Beach. We have warm summers and cold winters, but temperatures rarely hit extremes in either direction, beautiful beaches, a long boardwalk with a variety of shops and restaurants, wooded areas, and many entertainment options. Before long you’ll be adopting beach culture, wearing shorts and tees most of the time, and maybe even learning to surf.

Some Interesting Statistics

If you’re a parent, you’ll be glad to know that Virginia Beach has some excellent schools, both public and private.  Incredibly, although coastal areas are highly desirable places to live, the median price of a home is about $288,000 and the average rent for a 972 square foot apartment is just $1,215. Our median household income is about $64,000, enough to get by quite well here.

Things to Do

Once you’ve moved in, you can enjoy the city. Take a walk or catch some waves on the beach, stroll along the Boardwalk, or get on your bike and hit one of the local, wooded bike trails. If you’re a science buff, you’ll enjoy checking out the sea life at the Virginia Beach Aquarium, and if amusement parks are your thing, you have to spend a day at Atlantic Fun Park. We also have historical sites, like Francis Land House, The Thoroughgood House, and Ferry Plantation House, showing what the city was like in centuries past.

Meeting Your Storage Needs

Whatever your storage needs, we hope you’ll consider working with one of our locations. At Jack Rabbit Self Storage, we strive to match your needs with discounts, unit sizes from small to extra-large, vehicle storage, and more.

In fact, storing with us can make your move easier. When you move to a new house or apartment, it can take time to unbox everything. Having many boxes sitting in your rooms can also make your place feel less like a home.

We encourage you to unbox over a week or less, to feel settled in. But if you get a unit soon after moving in, you’ll have a place to keep boxes that you’re not ready to unpack. You also may find that you’re not sure where to put certain items, so keeping them temporarily in self storage can give you a little extra time to get that figured out.

If you’re already moving to Virginia Beach, welcome! We think you’ll love it here. And, if you’re just considering it, we think you’ll make it one of your top choices.
